All of your characters have 10 hp unless they have berserk temper,
in which case they have 14 (I think, check the temper table).

If you don't have a decent white magician (at least level 2, better
level 3+), I'd be cautious about entering most lairs without levels 3+.
It can be done, but requires luck.  The neutral or pagan bonuses can help,
but don't get too cocky.  If you do have a good white magic specialist,
go for it, just be prepared to do a fair amount of resurrection.
It's especially good to have a character with good thief potential
try to steal, because a good thief can steal treasures from monsters I'd
never try to fight (dragons, demons, etc.) plus the best thief gets
a title which gives you a few extra gold a turn for free (skimming off
guild activities).  But low-level thieves tend to die a lot.

Most humanoid mosters (renegade whatevers, etc.) aren't too tough.  I
tended to go for them first.

Raids take a while, and then only cost you a few gold.  Unless you're
really short on funds, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
