Thanks to Bruce Cota for his help. JPG> Hello there folks, and welcome to another edition of the Quest Digest. ___ I changed the layout again, just for the fun of it. Not / _ \ entirely happy with it at the moment, but I'll only be able | __/DITORIAL to change it when I get some more time on my hands! \___| And idea I'd like to put forward. Stop me if I've said this before, but wouldn't it be useful for student players to have an address that KJC use in term time and an address they use in holidays? You could just send in your term dates and not have to bother worrying about that change of address thingy! I mention this only because my turn went to the wrong address again, and it'll be ages before it gets forwarded up here. *sigh* Anyway, on with the digest.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- _ We have, in this edition, a report from the latest pub / \ meet (which sounds like it could have been a telephone / /_\ RTICLES box meet with that attendance!), and various other / ___ \ miscellaneous items. /_/ \_\ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 11 Oct 1995 15:21:47 +0000 (GMT) From: Rogerio Fung <l41186@alfa.ist.utl.pt> RF> Well, its been quite some times since I last read the Digest, but here I am again...I was just wondering if there are any parties that anyone is interested in parting of? I seem to remeber that there were some parties to be given away, some time ago, but, they were all talken..any new offers from anyone? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 12 Oct 1995 10:17:09 +0000 From: thomas@enterprise.bt.co.uk (Roy Thomas) Something interesting happened to me the recently. When I bought strength for my whole group at once, B 99 (Shop No) (Strength Skill), I was told that it would cost 3750 gold (250*15) but we were told that 'the shop was offering a 10% discount for large parties such as ours', and the transaction only cost 3375. Not bad really especially given that this is the first time I have been given any discount on bulk purchase... Could this be a new program update? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 12 Oct 1995 21:04:15 +0100 From: peter.moster@megadolt.inka.de (Peter Moster) +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | /\ |\ /\ | | | \Xuest |/igest \/ld |ssues | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | The Backlist can be found at ftp.inka.de/sites/megadolt/games/questdigest | | It contains all the digests of this year | | For instruction read the file README.TXT | | For questions email peter.moster@megadolt.inka.de | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 13 Oct 1995 10:04:55 +0100 (BST) From: Allan Hooper <A.O.Hooper@herts.ac.uk> > JN> I was just wondering about those toughened monsters out there - are > they implemented in ALL Quest games by now and are they equally tough? AH> Whats the weakest monster that people have seen kill a PC? To save them the shame I wont mention the name of the group but in G3 I saw a group get a character killed by ... rats! Yes RATS! Heh heh, well it tickled me anyway. AH> Unfortunatly neither of my groups have had much melee since the new monsters/rules came into effect (enemies always get wasted in the spell round - time to lower ASL's). -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Ewan Jones" <c2ej@dmu.ac.uk> Date: Mon, 16 Oct 1995 11:34:12 BST EJ RUGBY PUBMEET : Ok, for all you wasters who failed to turn up to this momentous meeting heres the lowdown; being one of the first and questionably last meets in the fair town of rugby a staggering total of 3 people turned up, surely this had to be the least attended pubmeet ever. Despite this much drinking was done and passing of quest information and a fair time had by all involved. EJ STOP PRESS : Ok, this is hot from the man himself, the great god at kjc, Neil the programmer : the BLACKPOOL pubmeet has been set back two weeks, it will now be held on the second weekend in November, around the 11th, look for details about times and location in newsletters / turns in a couple of weeks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- JPG> Nope, I didn't get around to doing any more ascii letter art for the final paragraph, you'll be glad to see. If anyone's got any ideas for the Digest, or anyone has anything to say, please do not hesitate to email me. JPG> By the way, does anyone want the return of the list of Questers? For those new to the Digest, this is a list of what groups everybody on the list plays in what games, and gives some stats about your group. If there is sufficient interest, I will send the most recent one I had, and all ammendments will be made from there on in. For the time being, happy Questing.... >>-Josh-> "we are Young, we run Free, keep our teeth nice and clean, see our Friends, see the sights, feel Alright" -- Supergrass Up
