ATLANTISv2 atl-players-digest #155 From: csd@microplex.com (Christian Daudt) Date: Fri, 20 Oct 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Errors to csd@microplex.com Now there should be a digest whenever (a) there are 10 emails or (b) whenever there is an email waiting for more than 48 hours for a digest to be completed. So don't get worried if the digest has only 1 or 2 emails, that just means the list has been slow. (I hope it works) If you want previous versions, they are available via WWW at http://www.microplex.com/~csd/atlantisv2/ ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Dave "Mack" McGaw <u3djm@csc.liv.ac.uk> Subject: Skills Reports Date: Thu, 19 Oct 1995 17:06:23 +0100 (BST) Well Folks, It's me again, on the scrounge for more skill description. All that seems left for me now is the high level skills. The page is about complete, just waiting to go live, but I still need these : Can anyone oblige.? Longbow 5 Crossbow 5 Riding 3 to 5 Mining 5 Armourer 5 Weaponsmith 5 Lumberjack 5 Carpenter 5 Ship Building 5 Sailing 5 Fishing 2 to 5 Quarrying 3 to 5 Building 5 Herb Lore 5 Healing 3 to 5 Hunting 4 to 5 Entertaining 5 Wow! What a collection you guys have made. Incidentally, while I've got the chance, I'd just like to say HI to all the Aussies out there who seem to have a monopoly on helping me out. The response Igot from Down-Under is quite staggering. I also got quite a bit from NZ to boot. I tell you what, if it was an "Austrailasia vs World XI" we'd have been battered. Enough of this silliness, if you have any of the above description to hand, orcan issue a reshow in the next turn, mail me the guff when you get it. Hopefully the pages will be live by the end of next week!!! Regards and Thanx Mack PS I know I said that it'd be live this week, but the main techie guy only came back from hols on Tuesday, and he's had to put the system back up properly, so until he does, I'm going nowhere near him. PPS Incidentally, I'm not going to be in on Friday night as the system is downagain! I'm not sure I quite understand your argument. It seems to me (correct me if I'm wrong) that you're saying that if a unit went on guard in AC (or any other city or town where the Guard is still in place) the City Guard would then attack that unit, and all of the allies of that unit's faction would be drawn into the fight. However, this is not true. The only result of issueing Guard 1 in a city where the City Guard is in place is an error message saying you were prevented from going on guard. I'm speaking from personal experience as I accidently issued Guard 1 7 or 8 turns ago in a city. And, for the record, I have no units in AC. You cannot put units on Guard when City Guards are present. That was my honest belief. I read it in Geoff's 'bugs fixed' a long time ago ( year 1) - Some people were blocked from leaving AC by someone guarding in a city which still had it's guards. I believe he said then that the City Guards would now attack anyone attempting to guard in a city to prevent this. >However, this is not true Perhaps it was not implemented or changed later.(or I didn't read it right...)
