There are two things that made the early T-34's reliable -- they were
designed for the climate and they carried a spare transmition whenever
they could.  The BT transmitions were very poor.  In the later models
(mostly T-34/85s), the turrets were cast rather than welded.  In
mid-production, troubles due to rubber shortages were overcome.  The
internals of the T-34 were a mess; but the crews overcame most of the
problems.  Probably the best thing about the T-34s on the whole is
that there was a whole mess of them on the field and they were fairly
fast.
	True in what you said, for tanks vs infantry the T-35 would be good
(if they could get it to the field).  The thing had a 76mm, two 45mm,
and 5 7.62 MGs!  They just couldn't keep the thing running -- and when
it did show, it was targeted fairly fast.
	The Sherman was probably the most adapted tank.... and the most
popular one used in both theatres....
