ATLANTISv2 atl-players-digest #167 From: csd@microplex.com (Christian Daudt) Date: Tue, 07 Nov 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Errors to csd@microplex.com Now there should be a digest whenever (a) there are 10 emails or (b) whenever there is an email waiting for more than 48 hours for a digest to be completed. So don't get worried if the digest has only 1 or 2 emails, that just means the list has been slow. (I hope it works) If you want previous versions, they are available via WWW at http://www.microplex.com/~csd/atlantisv2/ ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Dave "Mack" McGaw <u3djm@csc.liv.ac.uk> Subject: Dave's URL Date: Mon, 6 Nov 1995 16:42:30 +0000 (GMT) I'm not sure if everyone has the URL yet, so I'll post it again! http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/users/u3jph/Dave/index2.html Have fun! We follow the example of the Republic of Rome, and if you had studied your history, you'd know that they NEVER surrender. As regards our pillaging of the plains, tundra and the town you have taken in Sorisdale, that was a strategic decision made by the Senate. Hope you like it. > I can see that you are leaving our shores (forcibly), so why not come to the > negotiating table and show that the Senate knows how to debate, not just > knife others in the back? Where you've got the idea that we are leaving your shores, I don't know. An entire Legion of my best stormtroopers are already on the forest moon... (Oops, wrong movie. 8-) YOU were the ones who invaded Sorisdale in support of the 4 who are 1, with whom we were trying to conclude a peace treaty. That you have supported their base treachery negates ANY honour in your words. Regards, The Legate, Dragon Legions (93). Republic of Rome. ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Michael Omotayo Akinde <strategy@iesd.auc.dk> Date: Tue, 7 Nov 1995 14:55:43 +0100 Subject: PCP - RoR War. The War against the PCP (Part 2 and a Half) ******************************************************************* Legate Zack walked stolidly down the main street of the meticulously ordered Legion encampment. He was well-satisfied with his men, the Imperator had given him some of the Dragon Legions elite troops for this little campaign. Not far away, the Legions of the Wanderers were putting up stakes for the defense of Derwent. The suddenness of the PCP attack had forced them to retreat from Sorisdale, but Derwent would not fall to the invaders. A commotion outside the gates of the wanderers camp drew his attention. A recently returned outpost troop was returning to camp. And dragged behind on litters, six bodies. The Legate moved over to examine them. One of them was obviously a mage - by his robes - but what disfigurement. Whatever had happened to this one wasn't natural. "It's Hogli" Someone whispered, and a shiver went through the watching ranks. The Wanderers swordmaster looked at the Legate. "They look as if they have been infected with some plague." The Legate nodded. "Burn them, lest they yet release some foul sorcery." The Legate turned back to his own camp. Yes - the men required a burning to reassure them - but he knew better. Just yet another sign that the PCP were very human - and not as smart or powerful as they themselves believed. ******************************************************************* Sorry, but I couldn't refrain from publicizing this little snippet, especially after all the Hobi/Hogli/Comito/Janice threads that have been running in the Times. (In other words, sorry about the spam.) Looking forward to reading next weeks enlightening articles from the PCP.
