Quest Digest 14/11/95 From: ">>-Josh->" <J.P.Gallagher@durham.ac.uk> Date: Tue, 14 Nov 1995 00:00:00 +0000 ___ _ / _ \ | | 14th November, 1995 | |_| |UEST__| |IGEST \__ | / _ | | |_ | |_| | An e-mail discussion forum for the fantasy |_ / \___/ play by mail game; "Quest". Compiled by Josh Gallagher. J.P.Gallagher@durham.ac.uk ___ / _ \ A foreshortened edition today, for very good reasons. | __/DITORIAL This list was started up probably about this time last year \___| for the discussion of various aspects of Quest between people on the net. It has flourished for a long while, and yet I find that it is perhaps dying now. It's been a week and a day since the last digest, and I've had just two responses to it. Sorry that I waited so long to send these responses on, but if I get so little usually I wait for a while to get something else to put in. This hasn't happened this time. I will continue to run the list (which as you can see above is sent to 91 people, plus a worldwide newsgroup), but unless for some reason the volume of posts increases on a more permanent basis I feel that the digest will gradually die out. Sorry to be so morose, but it's just a warning so you won't sit up and wonder one day 'What happened to the Digest? Did that guy just decide he got bored with it?' :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 6 Nov 1995 09:16:28 +0000 (GMT) From: Allan Hooper <A.O.Hooper@herts.ac.uk> > From: Paul Burke <PAUL.BURKE@UCG.IE> > PB> Also does anybody know what to do if your priests stop increasing > in skill , despite praying a lot , and giving a few hundred gold to > temples every time the group's in town . Do I need to start buying > religious books , or what ?? AH> Just do P0's a lot and tithe occasionally. I've got an 81sk BP in Game 3 without the use of a religious book (which may not have been fully implemented anyway). -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 7 Nov 95 13:53:33 GMT From: Phill Coleman <colemanp@cs.man.ac.uk> PJC > After all the initial discussion when the official alliances were started up, how well are they working? Is it worth just setting one up to take advantage of the cheap group training? PJC > Has anyone noticed the monsters are actually any tougher? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- JPG> Chris Dickson, sorry about not getting back to you before last weekend! For everyone's information who doesn't know it already, there is a Quest pubmeet in Blackpool on the 18th of November. If you weren't aware of this then send a turn in. :) And if any details have changed since _I_ last sent a turn in, then I'd appreciate it if someone would let me know so that I can inform the group. I don't quite have the cash to go this time, but I'll try and make some future one. Bye for now, folks! Happy Questing... >>-Josh-> "we are Young, we run Free, keep our teeth nice and clean, see our Friends, see the sights, feel Alright" -- Supergrass Up
