REQUEST: info for development of program From: devos@xs4all.nl (Marijn Vriens) Date: Tue, 21 Nov 1995 00:00:00 +0000 hay all, I have this idea of writing a Engine for PBeM games, I don't want to write a game but I want to write the program that alows other (more creative) people to make a PBeM game that uses this program as it's basis. I don't have enough experience with either PBeM or PBM to just go and write it. So I want to invite any PBeM / PBM Player or GameMaster to tell me what they would like to see as features in my program and what the userinterface should be like. I have this idea of writing a engine that is so adaptable that you wont even know which program's use it and which don't. I want to put all the power at the level of the person that creates the game and wants to make it run without having to worry about setting random seeds, memory pointers, 4 dimensional arrays and that kind of stuff. But that means that I have to know early-on what is wanted and what is not. If there is already somebody out there doing what I want to start doing and wants to join forces, he or she could drop me an E-mail, with 2 it's always 3 times easyer then just doing it alone :) . I'm not a C++ wizard, im just a 17 year old guy who has learned himself C++ in his speartime over the past couple of months. English is not my native language so please don't flame me too hard for my spelling... it's not going to help much anyway, beleave me :) Because this program will be made by all of you who will contribute there thoughts about this subject to me personaly or on Usenet this program will destributed as FreeWare... bye and thanx for your time, -- Marijn Vriens -------------------------------------------------------------------- My Homepages are at http://WWW.xs4all.nl/~devos/index.html Also i knew that something was ending, which also meant that something was beginning. But i couldn't say what. I didn't know whether, a hundred years from now, this would be called the dark century or the century of light. from "In the heart of the vally of love" by, Cynthia Kadohata. page 190.
