[PBEM News] Nietzsche Heights PBeM From: jdvagabond@hotmail-dot-com.no-spam.invalid (JDVagabond) Date: Thu, 01 Mar 2007 13:41:18 +0000 Tuesday, September 7, 2004 That fall day started off like any other. Light clouds graced the skies, streets filled with cars, and shopping malls and grocery stores filled with customers. A woman walked her dog. A boy ran late for his first day of school. A producer and an anchor went over notes for the noon news show. A man hurried to the bank for an appointment with a business loan officer. Everyday people living everyday lives. Until an alien spacecraft crashed in the middle of the city. Wednesday, September 8, 2004 A glacier crushed people and suburbs in the southeast, geysers of lava ravaged the northeast, and a jungle overran the northwest. An earthquake has toppled numerous homes and buildings and a suburb has sunk into the St. Anthony River. And downtown, near the site of the crash, police and National Guard and anyone who was willing to pick up a weapon fight alien beings, newly arrived. And throughout the metropolitan area, people have mutated. Saturday, September 11, 2004 People continue to flee, on foot, on wing, and by car. People are organizing. Refugee camps spring up throughout the city. Gangs and small armies grow. People wait for food, for medicine, for rescue, for hope. The aliens have set up camp downtown, protected by a large dome, a force field. Within it are humans, injured and scared. Today, the fighting continues. ***** After two and a half years of play, Book I of Nietzsche Heights is finally coming to a close. The next story arc should be starting in mid-March, and were welcoming character submissions through that time. Currently we have three players; Id like to see that number more than double. Nietzsche Heights is a 5th Edition Champions game, set in the world of today. The history of this world is that of our own Ray Charles passed away, Enron collapsed, America invaded Iraq in 2003 but please note that the game currently takes place in September 2004. There are no superpowers, no superheroes or supervillains, no worlds of magic or the mystical martial arts of the movies. There is simply the world as we know it, until the events of Book I. Characters are normal, flesh-and-blood people, built on 100+50 points. They will be people you can meet on the street cabbies, politicians, students, cooks normal people. Powers will be determined by the GM, and revealed only through game play. Players and their PCs will learn and explore those powers throughout the game. The posting rate is a minimum of once per week. This game is considered a mature game, with adult situations and graphic language and violence. You must be 18 or older. For more information, please stop by our site or write to the GM. http://www.geocities.com/nietzsche_heights/ The game is scheduled to start again on (okay - or about) March 14. Thanks for your time, and take it easy. Jon jdvagabond@usinternet.com -- posted from PBEM News - PBEM listings and announcements Reply to this post at http://www.pbemnews.org Up
