PBEM ... From: cdp@cpcn.com (CharlesDP) Date: Wed, 13 Dec 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Hi there! A few months ago, I posted that I was searching for players for my fantasy PBEM game. It was going to be a small project, but I got well over two hundred responses from potential players! So I had to develop a system for organizing the game, and I decided to charge for my DMing. You heard right, that's $$$ we're talkin about. This way, I make no limits on the number of players. Some people were outraged, many actually understood me (but hey, $$ is $$), and, whaddaya know, now I have a healthy amount of players. People from around the globe, mostly Europe, but also N. and S. Americans and Australians. So here I am again, not only updating you on the situation, but informing you of the "no player limit" status of the campaign. Here's a quick rundown of what I'm doing. This AD&D campaign is based in an original fantasy setting, and is far more realistic than most AD&D campaigns. My aim is to encourage character development and role playing, and as a DM I value role playing greatly. I handle all the dice, and players have absolutely no contact with any numerical data (I did say role playing, no?). Turns are weekly. Players can band together, forming into groups, or they can play solo. It is up to them, a decision they can exercise at any point (given, of course, an opportunity) of the game. All players start at level 0, with very little to speak of in terms of a career. Most players start out at age 17 or 18. I have a Character Concept form I send out, and players get pretty much what they want. If you are interested, contact me at cdp@cpcn.com. Seeya Charles Up
