RFD for uk.games.roleplay From: Jonathan Burt <jonathan@jaburt.demon.co.uk> Date: Sat, 27 Jan 1996 00:00:00 +0000 RFD for unmoderated group uk.games.roleplay Name: uk.games.roleplay Summary: uk.games.roleplay For Role Playing addicts to meet and discuss games. Rationale: I feel that it will fit into the current uk.games.* hierarchy, as this seems to be the only other aspect of gaming missing. And if it gets too busy, it could, in the future, be broken down into more specialised areas (i.e. uk.games.roleplay.dnd, uk.games.roleplay.vampire). Even though there are already relevant newsgroups under the rec.games.frp.* and alt.games.frp.* hierarchy, a UK group would allow all UK players to have a local meeting point. Charter: The proposed new newsgroup is for UK (and visitors) Role Playing addicts to meet and arrange games throughout the UK. Also it may be used for (but not limited to) the discussions of new and old games, rules, large game meetings (i.e. GenCon). It will be used for all types of role-playing, including (but not limited to) Live Action (i.e. Amber, V:TM), Play By Mail, Dice (ie. AD&D, Shadowrun). Binaries: Binaries are not allowed in this newsgroup. Instead URL's pointing to binaries should be given. Advertising: Lengthy and/or off-topic posts are not welcome. Short (less than 20 lines) announcements of RELEVANT products, services and events, inviting e-mail inquires or suggesting URL's for further information, are allowed. Moderated: no Period for discussion: I believe this to be a straightforward matter and would request the minimum 10 days discussion period, after which I will make a request for the matter to be processed by the "fast-track" method.
