[PBEM News] The Astral Cafe From: another_meijin@yahoo-dot-com.no-spam.invalid (Kino Morphy) Date: Wed, 25 Apr 2007 22:25:31 +0000 Welcome to the Astral Cafe, a free form play by email game set in an interdimensional restaurant with four doors leading to four very different worlds. This game is for players 13 and up. The first thing you see is a glass door. Printed in gold letter on the door are the words "Astral Cafe" and below it in slightly smaller letters "Come on in and dine with us". The inside of the restaurant is a semicircle. Six booths lined the left wall, a stage was built into the right wall, and a counter ran along the back wall. There were several tables in the center of the floor. There were large windows at each of the booths each showing a different view. One of them showed a jungle while another showed a view of outer space and another showed towering buildings made out of crystals. There is a bar at the far wall with several stools. Half of the bar has been converted into a sushi bar. There are four doors in the entrance way. Each door shows a very different view on the other side. The Astral Cafe is owned and run by a man named Kino Morphy. No one seems to know much about him except that he loves to play chess, gods differ to him, and everyone else picks on him. The restaurant is a type of launching pad for various different adventures through out the four worlds. The four worlds are: 1) modern day Earth: around the corner of 6th and Main in a small town in Upstate New York. It is located in a three story red brick strip mall between a flower shop and a hardware store. 2) a space station in the Andromeda Galaxy: on the fifth level of the promenade in a side hall. The station is on the rim of the galaxy, on the border of the Ay'arian Alliance(a feline-like race) and the Pleiadian Empire(a race descended from humans abducted from Atlantis). There are other races including the Draconans, the Nas-gol, etc. 3) the fantasy world Crymry: in the trunk of a large tree by a clearing about a half days travel from a small farming village. This world has the usual staples from fantasy, including elves, dwarves, goblins, trolls, unicorns, dragons, and griffins. To the north of the forest are the mountains with the Hall of the Dwarves. To the south are the plains where the tribes of centaurs roam. To the west, several days travel, is the sea where mermaids live and an island that legend has it was formed when a powerful warrior slew a dragon and it fell into the sea. The warriors name has faded into obscurity, but his tomb is hidden deep in the forest. 4) in a steam punk wild west world: on the side of the train station in a small desert town. -- posted from PBEM News - PBEM listings and announcements Reply to this post at http://www.pbemnews.org Up
