Help!!!! I have a Viper 3.01 card and I can not play Warcraft2. Does any one have the same problems?

Help!!!! I have a Viper 3.01 card and I can not play Warcraft2.  Does any one
have the same problems?

Hi, can anyone help.  I can not play Warcraft2 because of my video card
(viper ver 3.01).  I wrote to the software company and this is what they
suggested:
"UNIVBE, and UVCONFIG do not work with the Diamond Viper video card.First, make
sure that the WAR2.INI has the line UNIVBE=0. Second, run VPRMODE VESA from the
C:\VIPER directory. This is the VESA driver that came with the card, and should
be installed on the system. If it is not installed on the system, refer to
Diamond's Technical Support, BBS,or World Wide Web Site. The newest version of
VPRMODE is version 2.05, which uses VPRMODE SVESA as the command-line option,
and is available from Diamond's Web Site (www.diamondmm.com). Attempt to run
the game and see whether or not this helps. If this does not help, delete the
file called UNIVBE.DRV, and then restart the computer. If it was ever going to
work, this'll fix it. It should be noted that the Diamond Viper video card uses
nonstandard calls, and does not conform to 100% VESA standards. Diamond is
aware of this problem, and anyone that owns the Viper video card can attempt to
call them for technical support."
