Please read! New e-wrestling league From: Jay Anderson <ja3k+@andrew.cmu.edu> Date: Sun, 05 May 1996 00:00:00 +0000 Ok, here we go with my second crack at an e-Wrestling league. Anyways, I'm Jay Anderson, the guy who ran the newly defunct UAWF. It was fun, and I really enjoyed it, but I made a few costly mistakes in it, and I felt that it was never going to get anywhere near the level of participation I would have liked, so, after consulting my players on their feelings on the subject, I decided to quickaly revise my rules-set, and start over. So, now that I've got through with that, I'd like to say that in my new league, the World Orgznization of Wrestling (WOW), participation is pritty much manditory. For every appearance of one of a player's wrestlers, you must send in either a flash, an interview, or a specific match strategy. If you feel you don't have the time to participate that much, thank you for your time. If you think you can, please, read on. The WOW is run using the BattleMasters rules, based on WWF, RingMaster, and BODYSLAM rules. The character creation process and combat rules are very detailed, and are hand run, which makes for better matches overall. We will be running one show weekly, WOW Superstars (yeah, corny, I know), which will be run on Fridays. We will also have 4 supercards anualy, with 4 mini-supercards and a 4 month long mega-tourniment which basicaly decides who is the best all-around wrestler in the league (I'm concidering opening it up to other leagues as well as a multi-fed tourny located in the WOW) Now that I'm done with the fed details, let's get on to the "why should I join the league" stuff. Well, the biggest advatage is probibly the fact that I almost always release my cards on time. I was very good at that, and went through the first four months of the UAWF with only 2 late cards. Besides that... well, it will be very role-playing based, and uses a great rules-set. Beyond that.. well, I haven't run it yet so there is little I can say. You get 4 male wrestlers, 1 manager, and 2 females if there is enough interest for a women's division. We are starting with 3 singles titles (World, International, and TV) and one tag title (World), but could expand or contract from there depending on interest. Anyways, if you have time, and roleplay well, please reply and take a look at the rules. It can't hurt, and you never know how good the league may become. ---Jay Up
