Players may attempt to carve out huge empires, become master magicians, intrepid explorers, rich traders or any other career that comes to mind. There is no declared winner of the game; players set their own objectives, and one can join at any time. A commercial version of Atlantis 3.0, costing (US) $1 per turn, will be opening in June, with the first turn running June 16th. Atlantis 3.0 is designed based on experience with the Atlantis 2.0 playtest, which ran for over a year, with more than 500 players at its peak. One had a sword, the other was armed with a rather wicked looking stick. They looked somewhat surprised at the total forces we had managed to muster for our defence. This must have caused them to think twice. After hours of bloody combat, they suddenly fell back. We surveyed the ground. There were no winners here. Only dead men. Then a doorway opened in the air. Hundreds of our reinforcements came through this extra-dimensional portal. We were restocked with food, weapons, and crossbow bolts. Our most learned mages and generals had come to take charge of the war. An impromptu cheer rang out among our men. We knew the tide had just turned. I as a member of the CCCP have been hiding behind the blizzard for around about 10 turns now at the cost of one mage.
