Now my plan is coming to fruition, and one by one all of you will be either converted or destroyed. Each city will fall and become a shrine to the Womble. Several of my units didn't have any silver this turn even though they were taxing. One of my units reprted that it didn't have enough founds for studying, but it had done so anyway. I thought it took the money it lacked from the treasury (unclaimed silver), but could it have taken from the other units in the area? Regards! NKL ODGE The Bin in the Beam ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nairn (AP) - War Averted, But Many Unhappy Citizens of the Imperial Union of Nairn seemed unhappy with the Imperial Council's recent decent to back down from its aggressive stance with the lowly Rangers. During negotiations over a peaceful border, the Rangers launched several unprovoked attacks on Imperial soldiers. The loss of life was serious, and the Imperial Council orders a counter assault. Facing imminent destruction, the Rangers went begging for help to the powerful SCIO. Always accepting of new members, no matter how lowly, the SCIO assimilated the Rangers and notified the IUN through unofficial channels that it would not tolerate the Ranger's destruction. Despite the threats, the IUN did carry out a counter attack, though it's power was reduced to avoid complete anhiliation of the Rangers and to keep the SCIO happy. Many citizens have called for renewed attacks, but the Council has stood firm in its committment to peace with the SCIO, even if it requires holding off on crushing the dishonest and dishonorable Rangers. Spokespersons from both the IUN and SCIO have publically stated that peace still lives on between the two great nations, and that minor differences will not drag the two sides into a bloody war. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hey whats hapened to the times I never got mine last week ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I AM REALLY ANGRY. Louer (AP) Year 5 August The Rangers this month pulled off a stunning upset over the IUN this month. Victorious in their Staklesse Campaign, they turned their eyes toward the town of Louer, the only non-Ranger controlled town in the region. Timely assassinations of suspected mages in the lands controlled by the untrustworthy D'tark Conspiracy caused the D'tarkian leader to alternately threaten and beg for mercy from the superior Ranger force. All to no avail as the Rangers attacked Louer. Phoenix was heard to have been rubbing his hands together in anticipation of the attack. Despite a tactics advantage, the battle (as apparently reported by one of the factions involved in the battle, probably the D'tarkians) proved to be inconclusive, and both sides were left to lick their wounds. However, in the same turn, IUN joint forces were portalled in to assist faction 804. The Rangers then received a message from the D'tarkian commander threatening the destruction of all things Ranger "and their little dogs, too." as a source close to the Rangers described it. Things looked bleak for the Rangers until it called for its own help, the SCIO alliance. Cooler heads in the IUN prevailed over the hot-headed Conspiracist to "Shut your trap or be cut off from the alliance," as an IUN source leaked to this reporter. Anger at being led into a quagmire by a marginal and trouble-making faction led to a vote of censure against faction 804. Several argued for public disavowal, and at press time, the result of this vote is not known. A cowed looking leader of the Conspiracy was heard to say, ashen-faced, "Our faction learned a valuable lesson. If only we can survive it." Meanwhile, frenetic negotiations were taking place at the SCIO-brokered peace talks. A tenative border was agreed upon, contingent on the vote of the IUN Council. "It doesn't matter really," a SCIO faction master was heard to boast, "they approve it and live, or fight and die. We gave them more than we should have anyway. I really hope they chose to fight." And so, this is the situation at the Louer Battlefront. Where once jubilation rang through streets with the arrival of the IUN joint forces, now comes the dark times. Crying in the streets is commonplace as a military curfew is put into effect. The call has gone out throughout the IUN to its joint forces in Louer, and in particular, the D'tarkian Conspiracy, "Pack your bags". ------------------------------------------------------------------------ So it starts again. The guard flags that pirate and G.O.O.D. had set indicate a friendly relationship. Could it be true? Had the GA thrown in with the pirates? What possible reason could they have? In the words of Lou Reed, "Stick a fork in them, they're done" - the PCP mages are crushed and mop up operations are proceeding all over the world, one at a time. Even now, rumors of a force mustering to retake Komarken were being thrown around... House Marta was attacked by a member of MAD, Clan Donnachaidh. The reason given by Clan Donnachaidh was that he had received incontrovertible proof that all the while that House Marta had been claiming neutrality they had in fact been providing the PCP, their largest client, with information on MAD troop strength and movements. Word arrived that the Grand Alliance had shattered. Scouts are being sent out to verify that information. Having liberated Jaca, the task of MAD becomes securing it. The forces arrayed against the MADmen comprised 1,000 troops camped outside of Jaca and slowly starving to death. Mages and other leadership seem to be slowly being pulled away from this front... In Jaca, the MADmen were building troops at a furious rate - they are determined to hold Jaca. Having portals in each of the cities and towns meant that they could afford to keep the blizzards going indefinitely, in the meantime the tax base that the cities and towns provided allowed them to build a force sufficient to eliminate the PCP outside Jaca. Then, who knows? Maybe we will join the assault on Komarken...
