Thanks to Tim for a great idea.  My guess is that what we'll find is that no
one fleet is effective against all others (although it's probably easy to
build a fleet that will lose against all comers.)

One aspect that these battle simulations don't reflect is the importance of
fleet speed and the trade off between maneuverability and battle strength.
It's also worth pointing out that if you are serious about static defenses
(orbital forts) you should follow the same principles (large guns, small guns,
fodder) as with battle fleets.  Of course, there are also those who consider
orbital defenses worthless -- the best defense is a good attack and all that.
