Welcome to the Wasteland From: driser@infogo.com (Darryl Riser) Date: Thu, 20 Jun 1996 00:00:00 +0000 I'd like to try an experiment. It may actually be more creative writing than gaming, but it is an RPG in its own way. The game consists of players writing passages about their characters actions and thoughts and emailing them to me. I'll edit all the player actions into one narrative and send it to all players. The storyline is limited only by the imagination of the players. All genres welcome -- from film noir to cyberpunk and everything in between. (Goth, Western, Swords and Sorcery, etc.) It's set in a mythical wasteland. You awaken and find yourself in the wasteland, a few hundred yards from an outpost. The outpost is the Wasteland Cafe, a waterhole at the edge of nowhere owned and operated by Nick Adams -- an enigmatic sort, played by me. <G> (Picture someone with the personality of Humphrey Bogart's character in Casablanca, wearing a Goth Punk velvet vaquero's jacket, silk shirt with jeans, cowboy boots and a ponytail and you can picture Nick.) He chain smokes clove cigarettes and drinks Tsingtao beer. If you have any questions about the Wasteland, Nick may or may not help you. You begin the game by sending me an email with your character's entrance into the Wasteland Cafe. (I'd also appreciated some idea of how you are in the real world -- mainly your age and any hangups you might have so that I can try to keep from unnecessarily offending you as the plot develops.) If you have any questions, try my homepage: http://www.infogo.com/~driser/ or write me at: driser@infogo.com Walk in beauty, Darryl Up
