DATELINE Cor-Caroli, July 22 - Imperial Naval forces destroyed the 2 ships

stolen last week by ALF terrorist raiders. The ships were tracked down and

cornered in an asteroid field near Sol, and after a fierce and spectacular

space battle, both vessels were obliterated with laser cannon fire.
Although
imperial marines attempted to board the ships in order to take prisoners,
the
ALF members fought to the death, shouting "We die before we captured!" and

"Terran pigs not get us alive!" The entire crew consisted of young Rhesian

males armed with laser pistols and plastic armor, which was standard
equipment
on the ships. Investigators will try to gather evidence and data that may
lead
to at least one of the ALF's hidden strongholds, thought to be in the Sol
star
system.

DATELINE Themthelgia II, July 23 - An invasion of jiggobugs has destroyed
massive amounts of agricultural goods in the Castor system, and much of
the
fresh fruit and nut crop has been completely ruined. The suspected carrier
of
the vermin is The Vanderwhall, a megafreighter registered in the
Betelgeuse
system. The vessel had just made a run from Fromida Froo, transporting
potatoes to Themthelgia II, a planet that regularly imports a small
percentage
of their agricultural needs. Now, however, it looks like the famine will
force
major importing to suppliment the world's needs for quite some time to
come.
Dr. Leoni Muropa, a Zephyr agricultural specialist, has said that he is
developing a plan to defeat the jiggobugs, but it will take a while to
impliment the plan. "Jiggobugses are being very cute and having pretty
exoskeletons," he said. "But they are also being a pain in the ass, and
therefore, must be being eradicated!" he explained. In an unrelated story,

Mammooth in the Rasalhague system has also had a similar infestation of
the
vile bug, and Dr. Muropa has prommised to work with local governments
there,
for a fee, to help eliminate the pests.

DATELINE Cabanna, July 25 - A huge planetquake rocks the Endlessloop
Armaments
company, setting off a series of explosions that destroyed over 65% of the

high-tech weapons complex. Luckily, only a small force of Mechbot security

officers was staffing the factory, and they were unhurt. So much radiation
and
toxic material was released in the disaster, that several small towns
nearby
had to be evacuated. "If anyone other than Mechbots were working when the
explosion occured, they would certainly have died from the fallout." said
one
investigator. Stock in the company plummeted to less that 60 QPs per
share.

DATELINE Draak, July 28 - The situation grows worse in the Kochab system
as
Geckos and Terrans continue hostilities. All Terrans have been given one
week
to leave the star system, or face the consequences. Likewise, there is a
motion before the Imperial Senate that will ban all trade with Geckos
unless
the expulsion of the Terrans from Draak is reversed. War looms on the
horizon
as all star systems in The Colonies voice support for Draak. However, The
Outback remains neutral, as expected. Species-selective blockades will are

expected to be enforced soon.
