INTERSTELLAR NEWS BRIEFS

DATELINE Rhomanus, July 9 - Once again, the Alien Liberation Front has
struck
terror into the citizens of The Empire as a small nuclear weapon was
detonated
on the planets surface, neare several large industrial factories. The
installations, and over 25,000 workers, were destroyed immediately by the
blast and from the ensuing radioactive fallout. Planetary officials
refused to
comment on the incident, stating that it was a matter of security, and
that
the factories were producing arms for the military. The ALF broadcast its
threat to the Thuban government one month ago, but it was not disclosed to
the
public, and many thought it was a hoax. Rhesian Security Chief Donali
Buchaar
was found to be at fault for ignoring the ALF warning, but since he was
killed
in the terrorist attack, he was fired postumously.

DATELINE Earth, July 12 - An imperial naval war frigate, unidentified at
this
time, was destroyed by a fleet of vicious space pirates. Few details are
available at this time, but the Imperial Bureau Of The Navy And Postal
Service
claims that the culprits will soon be dealt with, and will be destroyed
with
extreme prejudice.

DATELINE Draak, July 14 - Production suffers in the Kochab system as
hostilities between The Empire and local Gecko governments increase.
Numerous
riots broke out as leaders plead for peace between the Terrans and Geckos,
but
so far the cries for peace have fallen on deaf ears. Almost ten thousand
Terrans were injured during demonstrations in the streets of the capital
city,
and martial law has been established. Several high placed sources have
indicated that a complete break in diplomacy is on the horizon, and
possibly
all Terrans on Draak will be deported or imprisoned.
