Well, the 3-player game has 10 birds, so I was going to have it 3n+1 for
n players. A few other changes; maximum number of spells is twice the
number of old people in your clan (though you still have to pay for any
cast beyond the number of totem pieces at the usual rate of one bird per
spell; the idea being to restrict the unbalanced power being ahead gives
you, and the idea of the old people being the shamen of your clan fits the
theme, and gives them more purpose). Two simultaneous phases; reshuffling
between huts, and spellcasting.
All applicable spells automatically take effect, you can't waive them.
Starvation done on a preference list system. Not sure how I'd do the
"Youth" spell target yet, I'd probably require a target ageband to be
selected when cast.

Another thing; do you think transference of birds between clans should be
allowed? Just to make diplomacy in a many-player game more interesting?
It'd take place at the reallocation of people to huts phase.

- I don't think it'd be _necessary_ for you to own a copy of the game,
though I think it's worth buying. :-)
