Rarely does a light leak from the crevices of the stagmites and stactites that are the Great Houses. The Great Houses, the families of ancient power that rule over this city. They scheme and conive to bring glory to Terra Ulgar, and utmost to Lloth, the Spider Queen. Throughout this mighty cavern can be seen a multitude of smaller, lesser houses that each possess their own niche in this society of intrigue, savagry, and betrayal. These are the traits that Lloth admonishes above all others. By fulfilling the will of the Spider Queen, maybe your house can some day reach that plateau. Each player will decide at which level they would like to place their house. The levels to choose from are Great House (Houses 6-10), Major House (11-25), and Minor House (25-50). Each level has pros and cons, obviously. At the higher levels, you will recieve more resources, but you will be expected to participate much more actively in the ongoings of the city. This puts your nobles at risk from your enemies. At lower ranked houses, you start with few resources at your disposal, but you do not have as many 'demands' on your nobles. Therefore you can more easily slink into the background, out of the council's eye.
