I have put together the beginnings of an Atlantis 3.0 Developer's Kit, for those interested in writing utility programs for Atlantis 3.0. (Out of a rumoured width of 320 hexes.) There are only 25 hexes (north to south) between the northern and southern cities. This all leads to the question: How long before peoples from different gate cities start mixing together? With the right terrain it could be happening anytime from this turn onwards!! Any interest in getting into a gate city area by the back way? Dunster approached from the east? Helsicke from the west? Many factions are trying to tax to survive and having difficulty finding enough tax revenue. This has forced some factions to begin moving further north in search of more land. Guerrilla warfare has broken out in the fringes of the Southern Cross territories. It seems that some of the survivors from the recent war have violated the terms of surrender and moved north into the mountains. One scout failed to report in, and rumor has it that the remnants of the Dark Legions are responsible. Be cautious if you are moving into the northern plains. There have also been reports of thievery in recent months. Be wary as the Southern Cross is working to alleviate this problem and make the region safe once again. Plans are in the works to move the mage school in Dunster to a tower. Contractors are working now to prepare to build this haven of knowledge somewhere in the nearby region. The final location of this tower has not yet been released to the public, but should be within a few months. Some people believe that peace talks are breaking down, while others say just the opposite. A mage with skill 1 in Gate Lore can see a Gate if one exists in the same region as the mage. This detection is automatic; the Gate will appear in the region report. A mage with skill 1 in Gate Lore may also jump through a Gate into another region containing a gate, selected at random. To use Gate Lore in this manner, use the syntax CAST Gate_Lore RANDOM UNITS <unit> ... UNITS is followed by a list of units to follow the mage through the Gate (the mage always jumps through the Gate). At level 1, the mage may carry 15 weight units through the Gate (including the weight of the mage).
