ANNOUNCEMENT: Galactic Traveller - The New Interstellar PBEM Site From: jacko@jacobean.demon.co.uk (Jacko) Date: Wed, 07 Aug 1996 00:00:00 +0000 ANNOUNCEMENT: Galactic Traveller - The New Interstellar PBEM Site Welcome to: GALACTIC TRAVELLER ------------------ http://www.jacobean.demon.co.uk/gtrav.html Galactic Traveller is the up and coming resource for featured interstellar turn based games. It is based in the UK to provide a resource for those of us 'this side of the pond'. When I first started, I got fed up with hunting around for games stuff and of slow downloads from some US sites. Now I've got some web space I've decided to do something about it. What featured games? Oh yes, I forgot to tell you. They are, not in order of importance: GALAXY STARS! VGA PLANETS By posting this, I do not wish to offend by mentioning games in the wrong groups. It has been done because many of us play more than one game. At the moment it provides enough to play the three featured games: o Intros to the Games o Shareware versions of the games (Inc Stars! 2.5a Reg Upgrade) o Rules & Strategy Guides (Mainly for Galaxy) o Some addons (Inc Dan & Dave's Addons for VGA Planets) o Some utilities o Shareware versions of the games o Links to other resources (Yes, I know more boring links!) (Home pages of featured games) (Newsgroups, mailing lists, etc) o A dedicated file download area if you know what you want. Over the next few months more and more will be added, hopefully making this the UK and Europe's premier (it pays to think big!) site for the featured games. Coming soon: o Paul Owen's Stars Turn Mailer for Pegasus Mail o Hopefully all the addons and scenarios for VGA Planets o More utils for VGA Planets - Viewers, Scorers, etc... o Anything else you'd like to see featured Please don't hesitate to give me some (hopefully polite but constructive) feedback about the site; what you think is good/crap, what you'd like to seen on it, etc. I shall announce future features to you. I hope this site will be of use to a few of you and thanks for reading this far. -- So long and thanks for all the fish ... -= Jacko =- jacko@jacobean.demon.co.uk www.jacobean.demon.co.uk/index.html Up
