The phrase speed kills can be likened to the ancient phrase: May you live in interesting times. Speed Kills (the combat magic) can mean two things. 1) You're so fast you just plain overwhelm your opponent and win 2) You're opponent weathers your storm and slaps you around just as soon as you start to run out of gas (eh Vanya :) ) Dave PS Stamina is Key! ***** ------------------------------ From: cfs@bea.com (Chris Settipani) Date: Wed, 21 Aug 96 08:10 Subject: Re: GUILD-L "Mike Lee ruins Minotaurs." ***** Form: Reply Text: (27 lines follow) Youse is starting to sound more like one of them whining pansy elves (which strangely youse thinks is better off) than a true mino. Minotaurs are easily the most powerful, and best looking, race in the Adventurers' Guild. The Minotaur Bracer is a help, but get over to Antar, visit the Mushroom Circle, and get youseself a minotaur pendant. That also lowers the cost for dex and cun. Be sure youse has saved up a lot of EPs, and slam those stats until the pendant disappears. As for head butt, when Luca hits, Luca hurts people, and dazes them. Unfortunately, Luca is only level 4 and Luca don't hit too often. Gotta work on that. Push is also a good skill, but Luca ain't got it yets. Speed works great for us minos. With our low stamina cost, we can offset the energy drain. Too bad it is so damn expensive, and there are no free gains. Try combining it with initiative for those times that youse gets nauseated That stamina also gonna help youse absorb damage (and fight nauseau) , and Luca has heard that minotaurs tend to gain more damage points on average than the other races. Remember: "Speed kills [others] and stamina is key" So quit youse's sulking, whining and hiding, and stand tall and proud as a member of the classiest race around. He said that for minos Head Butt range was increased up and down in height and that damage was increased through great helms since last year. Please keep in mind that skills do much more at higher levels (level 7+ IMO) and no character has really ever had a level 13+ head butt to see what would happen. :) Also brought up by Hugh last night was training Magic Resistance up for Dwarves. Personally I think it would be good for Dwarves only, if it had a KP cost of at least 50 KP per level, and the major drawback would be magic cast by the character would decrease a certain amount per Magic Resistance level (in addition to helpful (cure party) and harmful (opponent's blast) magic cast at that character). One shouldn't be both magic resistant and able to cast magic was the main argument on our side. Any thoughts on this as Hugh would say? :) Mike ***** ------------------------------ From: Mike Lee <mlee@discover-net.net> Date: Thu, 22 Aug 1996 04:02:11 -0700 (PDT) Subject: Re: GUILD-L Re: Minotaur Mootiny ***** Andy wrote: >Speaking of Minotaurs, > >I am Kroll >Son of Krell > >Slayer of Johan Redbeard > >And I am NOT Mike Quigley! > >I AM Andy Zambrzycki >(No one runs a mino better than me...ain't that right Mike?)
