HW: Border Kingdom From: baidins@copland.udel.edu (Juris Baidins) Date: Wed, 21 Aug 1996 00:00:00 +0000 Should this place really be player kingdom? In both games I am in, the Border Kingdom was quickly swallowed by its neighbors after basically having little or no effect on the game. In the Kusan game, I saw take it the northernmost province of Brythunia, but then conquered by Cimmeria, while in my Aquilonia game it provided me a pleasant respite from fighting Cimmerians and Nemedians and was then swallowed by Cimmeria (and is now being fought over by both). Its army cannot possibly stand up to its neighbors, its characters have insufficient diplomacy talent to guarantee peace with its neighbors, no Black Death magic to decimate invaders. Its only chance it seems is to ally with Nemedia and hope the Nemedian has army to spare to defend you. Plus it is also somewhat unfair to Nemedia, since occupation by any other power of the Border Kingdom, will cripple victory point gains for Nemedia. At start, Nemedia is merely bound in peace with Border, cannot put in its own armies to defend it and may have to watch as someone else rolls into the Border Kingdom. So what would be lost by making the Border Kingdom an NPK starting out allied and peaced with Nemedia? -- Juris Baidins baidins@udel.edu Referenced By Up
