ATLANTISv2 atl-players-digest #227 From: csd@microplex.com (Christian Daudt) Date: Thu, 29 Aug 1996 00:00:00 +0000 Errors to csd@microplex.com For more information on Atlantis, visit the Web site http://www.rahul.net/atlantis, or email the gamemaster at atlantis@rahul.net. If you want previous digests, they are available via WWW at http://www.microplex.com/~csd/atlantisv2/ NOTE: I'll be closing down this service in a while. It is no longer necessary, as the postings have trickled down to almost nothing in the atlantis mailing lists. ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Dave "Mack" McGaw <u3djm@csc.liv.ac.uk> Subject: Calling all cars, calling all cars! Date: Tue, 27 Aug 1996 12:13:33 +0100 (BST) Dear All. I have to apologise to all and sundry who are trying/have tried to contact me over the last week. I've been a tad swamped with other Non-Atlantis stuff that's been going on here in Scouserland, so all I can do is assure you that I'll get to replying as soon as I can. I'm currently on my lunch hour as it is!!! I'll be popping back in later tonite and hopefully will get a msg out to all who have mailled me. This note is just a way of saying that I'm still alive and will get things done ASAFP. Later - and thanx for your patience! I've just been having a look see at the Times and came across this : ----- Alf's Boys will continue with their exploration purposes (inclusively after being killed all our units in AC by the tiranic forces that have conquered the city). Any map info will be appreciated. Contact: alf@odin.etsiig.uniovi.es ----- Now it seems that Alf is calling the NPR tyranical. Now although I can understand being a tad peeved at being killed off by us, what he doesn't illustrate is the reason behind his demise. The NPR, upon taking the city, had issued a warning to ALL factions in AC thatattacks on other factions would not be tolerated as this is a Newbie Haven. The very next turn saw : ----- Battles during turn: Elven workers 1 (5149) attacks Unit (1) in Atlantis City (-,-)! Attackers: Elven workers 1 (5149), 7 high elves. Defenders: Unit (1), leader. Round 1: Elven workers 1 (5149) loses 0. Unit (1) loses 1. Unit (1) is routed! Total Casualties: Unit (1) loses 1. Elven workers 1 (5149) loses 0. Spoils: . ----- The "Elven workers" unit belonging to Alfs Boys...! Naturally, to enforce the law that we made, he was quickly "spirited" away from the city to the Great Geoff in the sky. Now I am not condoning our actions, we did have a superior force and there wasno challenge here, but this should have been evident from the demise of the Cityguard and the notice in the Times, so before you believe everything in the Times about the NPR, ASK US! The Admin staff are more than willing to answer any questions you may have, sodrop any of us a line : Salvatore Greco salvo@iafrica.com Dave "Mack" McGaw u3djm@csc.liv.ac.uk Pete Futtrup pf@nrg.dtu.dk The NPR believe that AC should be as safe a place now, as it was when the cityguard were in force; except we can help you out more by providing better services to the populous...
