INTERSTELLAR NEWS BRIEFS

DATELINE Kochab, September 03 - Although information is sparse, sources
have
confirmed that the planet Draak, homeworld of the Gecko, has been invaded
by
the Imperial navy. Massive ground forces have imposed martial law upon the

citizens, but many enclaves of Gecko rebels remain a thorn in The Empire's

side. Some speculate that the navy cannot possible maintain control of the

planet without more resources, and colonial planets are not supportive of

Empire's brash move. "Many shout in street to make Empire goodbye. Glory

Gecko. Glory to Draak. Oh shi.... Bang bang bang zap arghhhh..." was the
last
thing broadcast from the planet on Gecko Free Radio before a complete
communications silence was forced on the world. The I.T.U. had no official

response, but its Gecko members remain determined to smuggle supplies and
weapons to aid in the liberation of the planet. Others have begun selling
"The
Empire Sucks" T-shirts on neighboring planets.

DATELINE Adhara, September 07 - Once more, the ALF has thrown a monkey
wrench
into the lives of many as the industrial sector of Rura Ponina was
attacked by
yet another terrorist offensive. Two hundred pounds of cyanthic descithide

were dumped into the Point De Nile water treatment center which services
the
city, killing thousands of citizens and poisoning local ground water
sources.
"Luckily, I drink only whiskey and beer, or I'd be dead too!" claimed

DATELINE Regulus, September 08 - Trouble on Nibor continues as Imperial
forces
continue to drain Nibor of materials and resources. A massive evacuation
of
the technology sectors, including chemical weapons development, was
quickly
executed in order to transport scientific equipment and personnel to
Earth.
Increased weapons research and manufacturing may have already begun there,

according to several highly placed sources. There has also been an

and radical increase in the production of chocolate, nylons and condoms.

response, The Colonies have demanded a meeting with Imperial officials in
order to avert the impending hostilities between the two regions. "We
