ANNOUNCE: Web-Grognards has moved! From: Alan Poulter <alan@poulter.demon.co.uk> Date: Sun, 08 Sep 1996 00:00:00 +0000 Hi, This is the first Update for a while as August was a holiday month. There are lots of changes to mention:- First, Web-Grognards has moved! We now have our very own Internet domain at:- http://grognard.com Our new domain is hosted on the Harte & Lyne Commercial Webserver, run by grognard James Byrne. We now have an FTP incoming directory at:- ftp://grognard.com/pub/incoming/ which makes sending us big files (especially software) easier. In celebration of the grognard.com domain, there is a special 'Schwerpunkt Challenge', in which you can win Schwerpunkt's latest computer game, Rostov, and the 'Club Grognard' offer, allowing you to buy an email address on grognard.com itself! Note that grognard@grognard.com is now the official email address for Web-Grognards, not grognard@clever.net. Redirection pages from our old URL, http://www.clever.net/grognard/, are in place and will be around for a couple of months. We would like to welcome Skip Franklin to the team here at Web-Grognards! Skip, keeper of Skip's Wargame Connection and The Wargame Company Email Address List, will be integrating these into Web-Grognards, looking after our computer wargames coverage and generally allowing Eric and myself to goof off :-) Finally, we here at Web-Grognards are going to be actively working with the Virtual Wargamer Headquarters Discussion Board (VWHQDB for short), run by John Kranz. VWHQDB is going to be the main web-conferencing site on the Internet for wargame-related discussion. It features lots of discussion areas for wargames by type, company, era, series and popular individual games. You will find a discussion area for Web-Grognards in the Consim Cafe group of discussion areas. It is recommended that you register with VWHQDB!. The Challenge: Allan Rothberg guessed GDW's The Normandy Campaign. Lots of people guessed some other GDW game on that campaign. This is Allan's second win. A new Challenge awaits! Note that in future I will receipt entries to the Grognard Challenge but not announce the winner until the next Update. A list of new links and files on Web-Grognards follows. For this list follow the 'Whats New - Latest Update' link from the Web-Grognards home page with your browser or go to:- http://grognard.com/960908.html IMPORTANT There is a large backlog of material: if you do not see your submission in the lists below it will be in the backlog :-( For access details for Web-Grognards see below.
