Space Opera PBeM RPG

Hey y'all,

I've suddenly developed an odd yen to do some Space Opera by email.
By Space Opera, I mean the FGU RPG Space Opera rather anything more generic.

At the moment I'm thinking of a military type campaign, although I'm not
married to the idea.  So what I'm looking for is 3-5 players interested in
playing the crew on a small military ship (or crew heads on a larger one).

I'd prefer people with Space Opera experience, but only slightly.

At any rate, my plan is to begin going through a slow character generation
process, pausing at various points to run little mini-scenarios as the
characters acquire their ranks and skills.  During this time the shape
of the final campaign would also be formed using player input as to what
they're interested in doing (if everyone wants to be space-based bug blasters
it wouldn't behoove me to invest a whole lot of time developing ground
based covert ops:-).

Eventually, everyone will be at a rank/skill level where they'd be ready to
start play, and we'll mush them together and go from there.

As I said, I'm leaning towards a military ship theme, but a civilian ship,
or even planetary based campaign is not out of the question if that's what
people would rather do.  I've got some plot ideas that are adaptable to
a variety of situations.
