New bitmap overlay manager can help with PBEM From: Richard Hogen <hogen@colorado.edu> Date: Wed, 18 Sep 1996 00:00:00 +0000 I'd like to announce the release of ELECTRONIC CARDBOARD, a bitmap overlay manager that should be of interest to PBMers and PBEMers. ELECTRONIC CARDBOARD is a generic bitmap overlay manager. (the name derives from the original inspiration for the program, which came from the Play-By-EMail boardgaming community) It allows you to easily move and manipulate graphical objects that overlay a background bitmap. ELECTRONIC CARDBOARD has a number of features that make it easy to manipulate bitmap overlays in your computer, such as stack control, rotation control, undo, front and back bitmaps, text "hints" and memo for each graphical unit, etc., plus session management and session memo features and "grease pencil" map annotation capability. ELECTRONIC CARDBOARD has two other features of general interest. First, a graphical Unit can use the color "pure black" as just another color OR as a TRANSPARENT color. This allows NON-RECTANGULAR overlay objects. Also, the SNAPSHOT feature allows you to capture the entire map and all units thereon (with or without Annotations) into a single .BMP file. These features make ELECTRONIC CARDBOARD a very useful tool for making "frames" for animations, for non-destructive annotation of scanned photographs, for PBM/PBEM gaming, etc. Please visit our web page at http://Ourworld.Compuserve.Com/Homepages/GDickinson/ELECRD.HTM Thanks, Richard Hogen Up
