I've only played a handful of turns in role playing PBM's myself, but I
think it would spoil my enjoyment if I had to worry about what the dice
would throw up every time I wanted to do something. But on the other
hand I can see the attraction of striving to increase your characters ability
at something and see statistical proof that you've done it. But then I know
that some players are more interested in improving their stats than they
are in actually role playing.
