Nonsense, there's no contradiction. If there's a commercial PBEM willing to pay me $5/week, I'll immediately withdraw my objections to them posting advertising to rec.games.pbm. In fact, if there's a commercial PBEM I'm interested in willing to let me play free, I'll withdraw my objections to them posting advertising to rec.games.pbm. Of course, I'm only one voice on this newsgroup. You'll have to buy off a sufficient number of the other voices as well. One way to do that would be to let them all play free in your PBEM...
