Lords of the Earth (c), Campaign 21 From: eddief6@ix.netcom.com(Eddie Efsic III) Date: Sat, 09 Nov 1996 00:00:00 +0000 This is an update to my post a few months ago regarding Lords of the Earth. The game used to be PBM (for over 10 years I think) until I began the 20th campaign entirely via email. My reasons were simple. I was tired of waiting months for a rotating GM sequence to consistently put out turns. Ideally they go out every month, and there is one GM that I know of (almost certainly others I don't know of) that do this. Unfortunately, my GM was not one of them. I saw 6 turns processed over a period of 3 years. So I started eLords, the 20th campaign of Lords of the Earth (c), an open-ended empire building wargame set in 900 ad, with 5 yr turns. This game system has _many_ facets, military (of course), economic, religious, social, and political. Anyways, I have been followed into the email area of this game by one Rick Stevens, who has opened up the 21st campaign of LOTE, again email only. With 8 turns complete in 5 months, I've got 44 players, which is about the right number for an active game. Personnally (Yeah, I know I'm biased), I consider this new campaign, and the medium for running it a _smashing_ success. Rick has finished the first turn for Lords XXI, and has only 20 players. This means that you too can play this really cool pbm game! In sooth, players who have never played LOTE are likely to have the most fun.
