[Sol III] Synopsis & FTP Site From: UUMT21A@prodigy.com (Mark Ayen) Date: Wed, 04 Dec 1996 00:00:00 +0000 With the recent posting of Sol Survivor and Kabal's request for comments on the contents of the same, I thought I'd take a moment to post a little information on Sol III. From the GM's synopsis [my comments are bracketed]: Sol III is an alternate earth with alternate history. 6 time periods have been chosen to adventure in, and all of them are open-ended with no player cap. We have a full staff of 5 GMs [I believe we are down to 2, but Sol III GM is looking for more] to insure rapid responses, and this is our 7th year as a professional Play By E-Mail company. The 6 Time Frames are: 1206 AD, 1651 AD, 1991 AD, 2026 AD, and 2606 AD. There are no turn sheets since the game is actually more of a true role- playing game than most, and as such resembles Interactive Fiction. Players may adventure solo, in teams, open shops, engage in politics, and anything else that they can imagine. Certain Character Types will allow players to switch between time frames. ----- Sol III was at one point only available to AOL subcribers. Now, through the miracle of FTP, it can be played by just about anyone with an internet connection. The FTP site is: ftp://users.aol.com/soliiigm/sol3 The "startup" files will explain pricing, character types available, and the basic rules. They are ascii, so will take very little time to download. The first two weeks of play are free. Cheers!
