OPPONENTS In each round, opponents is selected according to the following criteria: You may never play the same person twice except when there are no players you have not played before. Rounds will last one month, after which time a winner is declared. Between rounds will be approximatley two days for me to arrange the next round of games. This means that sometimes during the summer a winner will be declared. FEATURES OF TOMMY'S GALAXY TOURNAMENT SERVER This tournament is managed by an unusual server kit. The most useful feature is DEMAND UPDATES. By sending in special email messages, players can themselves control when the updates should happen. There is also a nagger server running, controlling that players not take to much time between updates. DEMAND UPDATES You can send in a special email to the galaxy server, with the subject: Turn <turnnumber> DONE Request for <Gamename> Where <turnnumber> and <Gamename> is replaced by the valid variables. The body should contain the following #Donerequest <Gamename> <Racename> <Password> #End You can have no lines between #Donerequest, and #End. The server will ignore lines after #End. If all players have submitted their orders, and all players have submitted Donerequests, an update will happen. For example: My empire testA in game GMTest with password apa wants to tell the server that I need an update for turn 5. I will send the following: ================== Subject: Turn 5 DONE Request for GMTest #Donerequest GMTest testA apa #End ================== Please note that Subject: in the above should be filled in as the subject line, and NOT in the body. NAGGER There will run a process every once in a while, checking when the last update was run. If there is deemed to have been enough time since the last update, an update will happen, just like your regularly scheduled update. Note that for this kind of update, I will ignore if some player has not submitted any orders. Note also that there will never be any update, if NO players have submitted any orders. Email Commands Sending email with subject Request Galaxy Tournament Will send you the Tournament rules Request Galaxy Server features Will send you this document Request Galaxy Docs Will send you the rules for Galaxy version 3.50 Request Galaxy Changes Will send a brief document explaining th edifferences between GalaxyNG and standard Galaxy.
