New Food Chain games starting From: lindahl@rt.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Tue, 14 Jan 1997 00:00:00 +0000 I will be starting new 6-hour and 24-hour food chain games on Thursday, January 16th at 9am EST. The new games will use the version 2 rules, just like the novice and experimental jungles. You may submit your START orders at any time before the game starts; they will be saved and processed when the game starts. To play, send email to either fchain@pbm.com or fchain-6@pbm.com saying RULES or issuing a START command in the body of your message. Here's a summary of the changes from version 1 to version 2: * Each animal may only be hunted once * The testing formula was squared for every test except starvation * The number of actual hunts is now less than the Hunts factor * The growth of plants no longer falls due to a decrease in the number of species * 5% of all food eaten is wasted There is a food chain web page at http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/fchain.html -- g Up
