New PBM game: Internet College Basketball Association (ICBA) From: lindahl@rt.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Tue, 14 Jan 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Name: Internet College Basketball Association (ICBA) Email: godot22@geocities.com Type: Sports Simulation Cost: free Duration: About 2-3 months per season Frequency: up to you, no more than a couple of times a week GM: mixed, mostly human URL: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Field/4547/icbahome.html Status: Just getting started, coaches wanted! Still more or less a beta-test, help/advice is welcomed. Keywords: free, closed-ended, email, www, mixed, sports, modern Description: The ICBA is a just-getting started game of college basketball coaching and recruiting. The recruiting angle is emphasized, and is where players will spend most of their time. Role-playing is encouraged; players are responsible for coming up with their own non-conference schedules. Seasons are short, and the game is more or less constantly going, because the emphasis is on building a program over many years instead of just winning once. In that way, the game is more "open-ended" than most sports games. Please bear with us during our set-up period; coaches are desperately wanted to help us test it. Right now, you have to go to the Web page to sign up, but the rest of the game can be played on either email or the web. [ This is a new entry for the PBM List. You can find the list itself, and instructions for adding games or comments, at http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/pbm.html or ftp://ftp.pbm.com/pub/pbm/PBM.list -- greg ] Up
