It will be a small game with 13 players which runs two times a week (Monday and Thursday). ----HOW TO JOIN---- To join the game send a mail with the following subject: Join Myst to this address: dvveen@cs.utwente.nl Your request will be processed by an automated server, and you will receive a reply to tell you if you were accepted or not. If you are not accepted you will be placed on a replacement players list. Please use the correct subject and address as I will ignore any incorrect emails! Also note that your mail will be processed by a non-intelligent program, so there is no point in putting any information or questions in the body of your mail. *** Background Information *** GalaxyNG is a variant of Galaxy. The main difference is that when you bomb a planet of an enemy you become the owner of that planet, and you get to keep 25% of the population and industry. The distribution of the planets is such that everybody has a fair chance on winning the game, and the GalaxyNG code fixes a number of bugs that were present in the old Galaxy Code. GalaxyNG is compatible with GalaxyTV. The game will run with the new version of GalaxyNG. This version has some extra features over the older version: (1) There is a forecaster function with the orders checker. With each reply to a set of orders you send in you can get an forecast on the status of your groups and planets in the next turn. (This can be switched on and off) (2) You can play anonymously. That is your email address will remain hidden from other players, until you decide to make it known. (3) The report contains extra information that will be used in future versions of GalaxyTV to provide you with more information about your groups. (4) The rule that allowed you to change production while still keeping all industry points so far has been removed since it it unfair.
