Geopolitik? From: Al Everett <aeverett@attmail.com> Date: Mon, 03 Mar 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Way back in the 80s (remember them) there was a WWIV BBS game called Geopolitik. It's basic premise was post-nuclear holocaust Earth is divided up into 20 countries, each consisting of four regional states. The idea was to use whatever means you could (diplomacy, fomenting revolution, military, nuclear) to get and hold all 80 regional states. There were six basic commodities (organics, ore, industry, and so on) as well as population you had to feed and keep happy and so on. It was pretty simple to learn, but finding the right balance took some doing, so it was an interesting game. Anyway, the reason I bring it up here is because I think it would be an excellent PBM game. All moves were done during daily processing, with a game month being equal to a day/turn. Alas, I'm no programmer, or I'd set it up myself. However, I do believe I still have the Pascal source code if anyone wants it. Referenced By Up
