Such a tool will run into round off error, partiularily with low
resource systems (where 0.1049 and 0.0950 make a noticable
difference...).  This problem is inherent in all versions of Galaxy
that I am aware of.

Personally, I use the forecaster. You can get 100% (well, 99.99%
allowing for some undiscovered bug in the code) accuracy as to wether
or not you'll be able to build that ship and what the numbers will be.
Why use a simulator to guess what the galaxy code will do, when you
can just ask the code itself???

Check the ftp site. Souce code in C for a mapping program is there.
