Question for Strategic Fantasy PBEMers From: philen@umich.edu (Phillip Lenhardt) Date: Tue, 15 Apr 1997 00:00:00 +0000 I have about 20% of the code done for a strategic fantasy PBEM ala Olympus or Atlantis. It is far from done, but some basic functions are working. My question is this: Is it important to you to have exact coordinates for each of your units? That is, on your turn sheets, you always have info like <2,37>, indicating where in the world you are. What would happen if I didn't implement exact coordinates? As I have it now, the only way you can be _sure_ of where you are is to cast a "greater location" spell. In addition, I'm working on a nasty little bit in the movement routine that will occassionally move you in the wrong direction (or not at all) with a small frequency of occurance depending upon your Scouting skill. Free slots in the beta to those who reply (hell, everyone can have free spots in the beta, and free spots in the game, and access to some of the source, as I don't intend to make money on this).
