New Galaxy Game Starting - Players Required

New Galaxy Server.

This is an attempt to start a galaxy server that will host a number of
games eventually. I've written a number of scripts to handle pretty much
every aspect of the game (signing-up, order processing, running the turns
etc) which I hope to add to the code distribution eventually as THE galaxy
server. This will hopefully lead to making it easier to run galaxy games and
hence more people will do it.

The ultimate goal.

My goal, because I have little time to spend on the server, is to have it
running automatically with little or no maintenance. Obviously it will have
bugs but I'm hoping to nail them fairly early.

The debut game.

The debut game is tiddler, a Galaxy v3.55 game. To start with I'm only
signing 10 players (I want to check things out with a relatively small game)
and the game will start when I have 10 players signed up (all part of the
auto server...).
   The game will run 3:00 AM BST (UK time, it will move to GMT after the
autumn) on Tuesday and Friday (i.e. over-night Monday and Thursday for
UK/Europe).

Who can join.

Anyone, the game is free (of course), however I suggest some experience
of Galaxy play is preferred for this initial game. I'm not going to ask for
credentials but I'd prefer people who will recognise server bugs (i.e. when
they get unexpected results based on past experience).

Warning : I WILL NOT field questions about how to play Galaxy. There is
plenty of help out there on Usenet, the Web and Email, any questions to me
will be ignored and repetition will get you barred from my games (I don't
want to sound mean but I've done this before and it gets very tiring
answering questions that a quick skim thru the rules can deal with).

How to join.

The server has a automatic game joining command, its designed to deter
casual sign-ups that will not finish the game (or in some cases start the
game).
   i) Send email to galaxy@discreet.co.uk with the subject "join game
tiddler".

ii) You will receive a game conformation message which you must reply to
in order to join the game.

iii) If you get the conformation returned in time you will be told that you
have a place in the game, wait for your start-up turn report.

Given a following wind I should be announcing more game start-ups in a
couple of weeks.
