Adventurer Kings news From: Agonistika <MC3547@mclink.it> Date: Sun, 27 Apr 1997 00:00:00 +0000 ANNOUNCING THE GREAT SCENARIO HUNT FOR ADVENTURER KINGS PBM!! ============================================================= Now YOU can use the latest version of SAGA, the front-end program for Adventurer Kings, to sign any fantasy game imaginable, based on the rules for Adventurer Kings PBM. Your scenario must be submitted to Ark Royal Games by July 1, 1997. We'll then announce the choices to the players, and ask them to rate each design on a scale of 1 to 10. The best 3 scenarios will then be chosen by Ark Royal Games, in consultation with the International GM, as well as all the other AK GMs. There will of course be prizes: 1st Place: 3 free games 2nd Place: 2 free games 3rd Place: 1 free games The current version "29" of the DOS Saga program contains a scenario design utility, allowing a wide variety of design choices: *Design any map you wish, or have the computer randomly draw up a map for each game. Your map may be up to 30x15 in size, and we may be able to allow a larger vertical size, if you really need it. *Control the area covered by each terrain type, and choose the races and armies inhabiting your world. *Use either Regular or Super-AK rules, and also create up to 10 special rules to give the game its own special flavor. *Make your own set of victory conditions. *Control quantities of leaders, features, mercenaries, starting skills of heroes, and starting gold in treasury. *Name the leaders and provinces anything you want. *Write a description of the scenario for other players. *Design a total of up to 15 additional races, army types, monsters and treasures, all with their own special characteristics. These options aren't implemented in saga.exe, so consult with designer David Snell of Ark Royal Games on how to include these special aspects in your game-design. Even if your design isn't selected for commercial publication, we will be happy to run any finished design for you and your friends. If you don't have enough players, we'll try to help you recruit additional victims <er, fellow gamers>.
