mepbm: questions From: Robert Weeks <weeksrj@mail.auburn.edu> Date: Wed, 14 May 1997 00:00:00 +0000 newbie alert! newbie alert! hello all! i am a new mepbm player in my first game, and could use some advice. i have read the rulebook a few times but do not claim to know the rulebook. i am playing the Ice King and would appreciate any advice in addition to my questions. thanks in advance! 1) to transfer troops from one army com.(A) to another army com.(B) (while retaining some troops so i can recruit w/o having to start a new army $10,000) do i have to use a third character.(C) ie. A transfers all but 100 troops to C (split army) then C transfers command to the second army com. B?is it worth the orders or are 2 armies attacking together nearly as effective as a single large army? 2)when place/posting camps what is a good skill level to use? is there a min.?is it possible to place a camp with a low level and then sit there and influence the loyalty up? or is it better to raise the level of the character and then start placing camps? 3)how early does the rush to find artifacts begin-is it a good investment to start trying to learn the locate artifact spell quickly? how quickly? 4)i have an advantage when naming agents (40) is it better to try to name c/a characters to go with the army or should i just go w/ an agent who is much better right from the beginning?i know a c/a could help train the army, but would a 10/20 c/a be very good at protecting the army com.? In the end i know that experience is the best teacher, but i appreciate any advice! Hence that general is skilful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend; and he is skilful in defense whose opponent does not know what to attack. -Sun Tzu Robert Weeks weeksrj@mail.auburn.edu Referenced By Up
