Galaxy PBW From: "Konstantin Metlov" <metlov@fzu.cz> Date: Mon, 12 May 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Hello Dear Readers of rec.games.pbem !!! This message can be interesting for those of you who is interested in Galaxy. I would like to inform you about ongoing development of the Galaxy PBW. PBW stands for Play By World Wide Web. Basically this is an implementation of the well known Blind Galaxy by Howard Bampton in Java programming language. Selection of Java as a language allows to build really platform independent Galaxy server and Viewer with the ability of precise client side forecasts. Essentially the same code is used on the server and on the Galaxy client for calculation of a subsequent turns. Just now the first development version is available at http://sun2.fzu.cz/~metlov/galaxy/GalaxyServer/index.html It's full of bugs and unimplemented features. The only reason to put it on WWW is the expectation of the early feedback I would like to get from you. If you will have a little bit of free time come Galaxy PBW home page. Let your drones fly faster than light speed. With the best regards, Ogre the Red (Konstantin Metlov) Up
