TribeNet question From: Patrick Travers <ptravers@flash.net> Date: Sat, 31 May 1997 00:00:00 +0000 What are the best skills to farm out to a subtribe in the early stages of clan life? Some skills belong together; for instance, engineering, metalworking, woodworking, and stoneworking are all construction skills. You wouldn't want to split those up. Another example of logical groups would be herding, skinning, boning, and gutting. You would want at least two skills (for increasing primary and secondary), they would have to be from (at least) two different skill groups, and (preferably) they would be able to be used right away. Perhaps forestry and scouting? Benefits: (1) Each has a finite number of workers (2) They are important skills in the early going (3) These skills are from group a and group b - no halving the second skill attempt Detriments: (1) Transportation of bark and/or logs from a distance (you wouldn't want to put herding with this group because herd growth in a forest doesn't seem to be very productive) (2) Scouting parties would not be able to defend themselves (3) The transportation for scouts needs to be herded, but you wouldn't want to keep your herds in a forest... What does anyone else think? (see - no advertisements) Cheers, Patrick Up
