TV: where's the trust? From: Ian Atkinson <atkinson@gauss.ma.rmit.edu.au> Date: Wed, 04 Jun 1997 00:00:00 +0000 In the thread relating to Tribe Vibes: Trade or Blade, someone (I forget who) talks about the advantages of alliances and then asks the vital question: where's the trust? Trust in TV (and probably in other PBM games) comes mainly from face to face contact, although regular phone calls may do. People who approach it purely as PBM or PBEM are at a disadvantage. One way to get good allies is to recruit friends into the game, especially as the GM (I think) allows friends to start near each other these days. Only the VVV have ever backstabbed a friend. Joining a religion in TV might work, but most religions are based on pre-existing alliance groups of friends. The likeliest way to find a religion whose members would include new members in would be to find one that is touting for members, as indicated by "join us" advertising and consideration for new members in the form of low sacrifice levels for young clans or other appropriate stuff in the constitution. I impartially recommend the Great Spirit Religion. Details of the constitution can be obtained by sending me an email.
