GALAXY Bug ! All GMs should read this From: graeme@discreet.co.uk (Graeme Griffiths) Date: Fri, 13 Jun 1997 00:00:00 +0000 One of my players, bless him, just reported a bug in the 3.5 code. It allows you to use the R command (with colonists) to explore planets using the turn forecaster. The problem is that when the checker processes the turns it shouldn't set the ownership of any new planets. If it does the player gets to know the size and resources of the planet before the turn runs. If the planets a tiddler they can simply move the route and re-send the orders. I've fixed this by #ifndef'ing out the part of unloadcol (in phase.c) that sets the ownership. This fix does mean the player may misunderstand the forecast and think their route doesn't work but the groups that move do actually show up as such in the Your Groups section so this can be explained to them. Feel free to mail me if you need more info. I'm sorry I have had to post this here but I've had no success with the GPDG list (is it still working ?) and I thought it was important enough to mention now. -- Graeme Griffiths - Discreet Logic (Newbury, UK) Disclaimer: I do not speak for anyone but myself and I do that badly.
