That's like going to the library and checking the published date of the
books...boooring.  But if I see a well done print ad or tv advert for a
new novel by a best selling author I'd be more likely to go get it.

We may not like it but PBM games are like any other commercial
product...they need to be adequately marketed. For the industry to grow
and prosper we need more advertising, not less. Taking your PBM game and
adding it to a list with every other PBM game known is not effective
marketing. You must get your product in front of the customer and convince
him that he wants it instead of waiting for him to come look for it.

I don't believe I've ever seen a personal post by Rick Loomis here, are
you sure it's because of Usenet tradition? Is Usenet tradition even
relevent anymore? Like it or not, since the PBM-forum is gone, this
newsgroup has become about the only area where any gamer or company can
publically communicate. Thus, it is the ideal place for companies to place
adverts.
