Re: The Ads Thread. From: soliiigm@aol.com (Sol III GM) Date: Tue, 17 Jun 1997 00:00:00 +0000 At this point, due to some E-Mail I have had with Greg Lindahl, I withdraw myself from the discussion. It has been made obvious to me that Mr. Lindahl will not be changing the ads policy (Which he states is his opinion, and not a policy) in this newsgroup, and that is regardless of how many people state that they would like to recieve more information about games, both free and commercial. He has also stated that he did not threaten me with contacting my ISP (AOL) about violating this Newsgroups policies, but about violating AOL's TOS on posting ads. I did not save any of the E-Mail from that string since it was two years ago, so I have no way of proving or disproving this. For now, I shall accept it as fact. Of course, the end result is still that it is the action of a Net.cop. As of this point, I see no further actions that can be taken and still maintain my sense of honour, so this will probably be my last post on the subject. It has taken too much bandwidth for something that is obviously not going to change. I am sorry to have wasted time, reason, and emotion on everybody's part.
